Command Line Processor
The Command Line Processor (CLP) is automatically installed with all
DB2 products. You can use the CLP to:
- Issue SQL statements and DB2 commands.
- Maintain a history file.
- Redirect the output of requests.
- Access both local and remote databases.
- Request command syntax help for DB2 utilities.
- Request message help for DB2 messages.
The CLP lets you access and manipulate databases from the system command
prompt, shell scripts (for UNIX-based platforms), and command files (for
OS/2 and Windows platforms).
DB2 commands let you perform many database management functions. The
following is just a sampling of the commands available through the CLP:
